it was such a no brainer this year, the 2nd place guy wasn't even the best qb this season.

Tomlinson, who broke Shaun Alexander's league record for touchdowns by scoring 31 (28 rushing) and also threw for two scores, had one of the greatest seasons in NFL history. He rushed for a league-high 1,815 yards on 348 carries, had 56 receptions for 508 yards and was 2-for-3 as a passer, both completions for scores, giving the Chargers running back six in his six-year career, tying him for second among non-quarterbacks.

All of those are merely numbers -- impressive numbers, but just stats. Tomlinson's attributes go way beyond that as a solid citizen and a player who lets his on-field actions represent him.

Maybe so, but you can't have the kind of season that LT had and not be the MVP.

it's obvious LT was the clear mvp

I respect your opinion, and LT had a great year. But I think Brees deserved it given what he accomplished.

Technically Manning was the best QB of this season. But for what Brees had to work with, and coming back from the injury, I'd definitely give him my MVP vote.

people have this image in their head that drew brees was the only personnel change made in NO this offseason, when in reality they pretty much gutted that team from top to bottom (cept ownership)

that and i believe the afc is a tougher conference to put up numbers in (even though peyton plays in a soft division)

well Jason Taylor has a press conference tomorrow from what I've heard. It hasn't been announced yet, but I HOPE its for the Defensive Player of the Year award. I don't think it'll be a retirement announcement however.

Even though Indy is in the AFC and the AFC is the tougher conference, honestly the divison the Colts played in was the weakest and like the Saints (who played the AFC North) played the NFC East (and Cincinnati). Neither the NFC South or the AFC South were that strong.

On top of that Brees utlized all of his teammates and help take them to levels that honestly a lot of people didn't think they were capable of. He had a Steve Nash like season.

I dont care what anyone says. That dude was a freak on field this year, and he deserved it. I've never seen an offense gameplan around one player like teams did with him this year.

He had the ball thrown to his side 36 times, 10 picks, 14 deflections. 2 For TDS. The man is a SHUT DOWN CORNER, who is better BY A MILE, then the 2nd best CB in the NFL. Sure you can make the argument about now throwing it to the right side of the field, but you know what? Teams would do the same thing for Taylor, run or pass. And Taylor just dominated offenses this year in every single aspect. I've never seen anything like it. Double teams constantly, triple teams even, and he still just blasted through. Oh, and Champ had 1 TD, not 2, and it came in week 17. He also only had 11 deflections. Not sure where you got this 2nd best completion/thrown to rate stat from. Havn't even heard that one this year but I'll assume its legit and give him props. He is the best CB in the league.

However, I don't think Champ is better BY A MILE then the 2nd best CB in the NFL. Technically Asante Samuel is the 2nd best CB in the league from 06, and he had 10 INTs and 14 PDs. Rashean Mathis and the dude from Oakland had pretty damn good seasons also.

Jason has a much bigger impact on the fins defense than Zach Thomas does. Thomas had a good season due to great play by the underrated DTs on that team. I know youre a denver homer, but Jason is far and away the best player on that team, offensively or defensively. I mean, when's the last time you saw a guy have a season with 13.5 sacks (with about three more taken away from penalties, plus a safety taken away by penalty), 2 INTs for TDs, 11 PDs, and 10 freakin forced fumbles, all while constantly being double teamed.
