There will be a 7 year gap between Dead or Alive 4 and Dead or Alive 5. I don't ever recall that large of a gap between sequels coming during the same generation.

Not to mention THQ has been going to a lot of competitions and trying to recruit SF4 and MK players to try and bring UFC 3 into the competitive fighting game market.

Although, I can't see a lot of the Asian gamers jumping on that bandwagon since it's not twitchy enough.

And I actually kind of prefer the slower, more methodical approach in the MMA fighting games, and the more versatile ways to defeat an opponent. Although I did really enjoy MvC3 and MK

That's probably the reason the games will never catch on. It's all about flashy, fast combos.

My hands cramp up way too fast when I play those twitchy games. I have no idea how some people pull the crazy combos in those games man.

09 wasn't bad, 10 was pretty awful though. The new one coming out looks a lot better then the older ones though since they took a longer development cycle this time around. And they got rid of the stupid submission system they had before.

UFC is fun to watch and I like it much better than boxing but I have to admit it can get really fucking gay, sometimes to an uncomfortable level when watching with a bunch of dudes. LOL

Just so ya'll know, Spek was being a bit sarcastic. MMA is one of the most popular sports in Japan. The lines between MMA and Wrestling have long since been blurred over there. Many athletes switch between the fixed wrestling and the real MMA fights.

Sakuraba is one of the biggest hero's in Japanese sport, and he was a pro wrestler for a decade before he became a fighter.

if figure skating, gymnastics, synchronized swimming, ski jumping, etc, etc are all considered sports, then wrestling certainly should be too.

i suppose next youre gonna tell me figure skating is gay?

I can't remember if that was a UFC game or a Pride game. I remember a really kick ass Pride game about 10 years back.
