WSJ's "5 Nexus device" rumor was correct, and not in a good way.
The original WSJ article stated that Google would be selling up to 5 devices via the Google Play store by Christmas, made by several manufacturers, or something along those lines. At the time, the only device for sale was the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. This lead to numerous rumors (and a hoax) of there being multiple Nexus phone. Talk about a buzzkill.
As of today, there are three devices, and in one week, there will be two more. they are:
-Galaxy Nexus (Samsung)
-Nexus 7 (Asus)
-Google Chromebook (Samsung)
-LG Nexus 4 (LG, 10/29)
-Nexus 10 (Samsung, 10/29)
There was also the Nexus Q, removed today. Either it didn't pan out or it will be re-released. Either way, we have 5 devices on the Play Store by 3 different OEMs, covering several markets; 7" tablet, 10" tablet, laptop, current generation smartphone, budget/last generation smartphone.
It's a shame that Google thinks that there's some magical cap of 16GB storage in a smartphone, or I'd definitely go with the Nexus.

I'll take a Sammy over an Asus any day.
