Lots of population in the Northeast so it's easy to get to places like Boston, NYC, Philly, DC, etc. Seattle is not a pass through destination...you gotta consciously plan to go there.

I've been to NYC, Boston, and Vegas.

Of this list DC and Philly will be next since they seem like good 3 day vacation spots and I won't have time to take a full week vacation until early next year.

Growing up in Boston these large tourist cities never impress me when I visit. They all look the same.

Boston - I lived there my whole life until 18 months ago
Philadelphia - Been through the airport to fly to England
Washington, DC - Four times if i remember correctly
Orlando - once when I was five
Chicago - no, but I want to
Denver - Fall of 2002
Las Vegas - June 1994 as a "family trip" when I finished elementary school. March 2004 the week of my 21st birthday.
Seattle - no
Los Angeles - no
San Francisco - no
Phoenix - no, but probably will eventually since it is only a state away now

International:
Toronto / Niagara Falls x1
Montreal x3
London x2
Paris x1
Reykavik (Iceland) x1

Mexico is nearby now but the border crossing is to Juarez so... maybe some other time.

The Southeast is not full repped in those choices, but I see the "context" of major-ish blah, blah, tourists, Disney, Times Square, whatever. I'd seriously be afraid of Atlanta Godzilla-ing this thread. They ride dirty, no Orlando love.

In the unemployment thread I mentioned I was looking for work. Less than a week ago I was offered a job in the DC area and decided to take it. I am not sure where I will live yet. Right now I am looking on Craigslist for people to room with. I was told I was better off living in northern Virginia and commuting into DC. Are you familiar with the area? If so, got any recommendations on where to live? I'm 28, single and would like to live in an area where I can easily go out and enjoy the good nightlife areas. I've been looking in the Alexandria and Arlington areas.

I don't know much about the DC area but I also have heard that DC is a hole...live in Va is probably a better idea.

From what I've heard DC can be a very fun place to live. Just like any large city there are some pretty bad areas but there are also some pretty great areas. Traffic is a nightmare and if bringing a car I would pretty much need to purchase a parking spot. Taxes are also higher. Overall, you get more bang for your buck in northern Virginia. I'll likely end up living there.

I had a friend that lived in Silver Spring. An apartment with 2 or 3 other guys ran him like $1200 a month.

DC is a great place to live, but there are options. Silver Spring is on the MD side (I'm way more familiar with the MD side than northern VA). Silver Spring is a cool little city and is very convenient to the Metro and also has a good downtown life, and is also close to Bethesda. Alexandria is fun, my cousins live there. You definitely want to stay close to the Metro, because that's gonna be important, especially traffic wise. I'll admit I'm much more partial to MD.

If you wanna PM me any questions feel free.

I visited Virginia to take a look at a house last night and got a chance to listen to some of the local radio stations. Lots of Jesus shows. Also a guy named Mark Levin who spoke like the sky was falling.
