LOL... that's true... damn...

but yeah... i think we all know Mercer isn't an elite fighter... but I'm just proving the point... anything can and will happen in MMA... Kimbo is probably not as bad as most people say... he was caught... just like tim was caught... he's still a fighter and deserves a chance to earn a spot in the UFC just like the other guys that will be in next season of TUF... i just don't understand the argument that he doesn't deserve the opportunity for some strange reason...

I think alot of people view it like that fight Benji Radich was in a few years ago after he hit on some boxers gf and he challenged Radich to an MMA fight and KO'd him in like 6 seconds or something like that.

Main card

Diego Sanchez vs. Clay Guida - I just have hard time seeing how Clay wins this. Diego has the better stand up and if Clay can get actually get sthe bigger stronger fighter down Diego has some of the best sweeps in MMA. This isnt going to be one Clay can just control.

DaMarques Johnson vs. James Wilks - IMO Wilks had the most impressive win of the season just to get into the house beating Che Mills.

Andre Winner vs. Ross Pearson - I think Winner will be too quick for Ross.

Chris Lytle vs. Kevin Burns - I hope I'm wrong but I think the deciding factor in this one will be Burns size. He was nearly as big as Rumble in their fights and Rumble is huge. Lytle is a bit on the small side of the division. Other than that though I think these guys are pretty evenly matched and I expect a great fight.

Joe Stevenson vs. Nate Diaz - I really dont have a reason for picking Joe Daddy. Just a hunch.

Preliminary card

Melvin Guillard vs. Gleison Tibau - Its Melvin. He'll find a way to get subbed.
Brad Blackburn vs. Edgar Garcia
Mike Ciesnolevicz vs. Tomasz Drwal
Nick Osipczak vs. Frank Lester
Jason Dent vs. Cameron Dollar

I threw 22 bucks down on Cameron Dollar to win 53. He looked a little bit better on the show and he is more likely to have improved over these last 3 months than Dent. If you still look this crappy after 27 fights you probably arent ever gonna get much better.

Main card

Diego Sanchez vs. Clay Guida - I think Guida will keep the pace high and just wear out a decision win....War Geico Caveman!

DaMarques Johnson vs. James Wilks - DJ is a fuckin beast but I like Wilks' clinch...If he gets it in close he wins it.

Andre Winner vs. Ross Pearson -Winner

Chris Lytle vs. Kevin Burns - Lytle by sub.

Joe Stevenson vs. Nate Diaz - I think this is the fight where Nate trys to one up Nick....You heard it hear...Nate by Gogoplata

Preliminary card

Melvin Guillard vs. Gleison Tibau - Tibau
Brad Blackburn vs. Edgar Garcia- Garcia
Mike Ciesnolevicz vs. Tomasz Drwal - Drwal- Mike came in overweight and looks sick.
Nick Osipczak vs. Frank Lester - Osipczak is gonna kill Lester
Jason Dent vs. Cameron Dollar - Dollar will show why Dent needs to be at 145 even though he is a good tough fighter...hell he took Huerta the distance a few years back.

There was really only one sane judge. The one who scored it 29-27. The other judge is a retard too for not calling that first round a 10-8. The best Clay should have been able to hope for from any judge was a draw after that.

The Sylvia/Mercer fight was not an MMA fight, it was a Boxing match. It was originally supposed to be sanctioned as a boxing match but then two days before the fight they found out that they wouldnt sanction it as a boxing match. So they said it was an "MMA" fight to get it sanctioned but both guys went in under the agreement that it was a boxing match and the intention to just box.

At least thats what I read. More to the point, Tim Sylvia is a fat bum now.

You have to wonder if Sylvia had gotten rocked but not KO'd if he would have tried to take it to the ground since its was technically not illegal.

I'm confused as to why Sylvia wanted to box him in the first place. Mercer is old as fuck, but he is a pretty damn good boxer (he was the WBO champ at one point and won a gold at the Olympics) and Sylvia is a big fat fuck with limited boxing skills.

Sylvia has been making terrible decisions for a while now. Apparently he thought when he knocked out Arlovski, who has since been proven to have a very suspect chin, he became an elite fighter.

i thought Clay deserved a draw, but I think the elbows Diego was able to throw and land powerfully from his back in round 2 is what swung it in Diego's favor... but to come back after that round one and basically control diego on the ground for the next 2 rounds was pretty amazing... i wanted that draw... didn't get it... now i'd like a rematch... won't be getting that either, i'm sure...

I don't think there was any reason to give Guida the draw. Even in the third round Guida ended up on top because Diego was the one who tried to take him down but slipped because of the blood. On the ground Guida didn't do much more damage than Diego did to him.

The final score should have been 29-27. The judge who scored it 29-28 Guida was on fucking crack.

I think we give too much credit for take downs and top position in guard. Guard should be considered a neutral position, especially if not much more damage is being done by the person on top. If side control or full mount if attained THEN it should be determined the dominant position. I don't think lay and pray makes one person a better fighter than another, but the scoring system supports it.

I also think the per-round point system needs to go. It's out dated and really doesn't support momentum and swings in the last round. Imagine one fighter just barely winning the first 2 rounds and gets his ass beat the last round and still gets the win...

Of course this is just my own opinion about it.

yeah , guida didn't really do shit outside of round 2

it was very clear who was the better fighter that night, that one stupid judge was on crack as you say

I'm a big fan of the Energizer Caveman. Dude was still bouncing around like a crackhead after fighting for 15 minutes at the highest pace of any fighter.

All that energy is useless because his stand up blows, his GnP is weak, and I dont think he even knows what BJJ is. Clay Guida is nothing but empty aggression.
