Not being an avid gamer it's no wonder that I've never played most of those titles listed.

Roughly inn this order, right up until the point where it's not...

GoldenEye (N64)
Sim City 2000 (PC)
Star Wars: Rogue Squadron (N64)
Star Wars: Dark Forces (PC)
Diddy Kong Racing (N64)
Return to Monkey Island (PC)
The Curse of Monkey Island (PC)
Soul Calibur (DC)
BanjoKazooie (N64) (I dunno, maybe Mario 64. It's just been so damned long since I played it)
Earthworm Jim (Genesis)

And Sonic sucks it -- in leather chaps.

Super Mario Bros. 3 came out in 87; and Y's Book I and II came out in '89 -- but Y's was released really late in the year so I'll let it slide. At any rate:
  1. SEGA AGES (Saturn)
  2. Y's: The Vanished Omens Book I, II (TurboGrafx CD)
  3. Panzer Dragoon II: Zwei (Saturn)
  4. NiGHTS in Dreams (Saturn)
  5. Super Metroid (Super NES)
  6. Final Zone II (TurboGrafx CD)
  7. Gaiares (Genesis)
  8. Thunder Force III (Genesis)
  9. The Legend of the Mystical Ninja (Super NES)
  10. Alone in the Dark (3DO)
I wouldn't suggest these games were the best by any stretch, but they were some of my favorites through out the 90's, and still are.

Red face Same here...

It was my (the) first survival horror. I used to play it with the lights off at night. It scared the heck outta me back in the day. The sequel was ass though.

I played it on my 386 SX20 with 2MB of RAM. Also with the lights off. Ricks Brother and I were big into the game. the PC Version had some insane tiny copy protection book about the size of a chiclet.

Great game, Definately turned me onto Lovecraft-ian type of horror. All three sequels were ass.

Arrow All three sequels were ass.

I have AitD: The New Nightmare on Dreamcast, but I only played though about an hour of it. A year or so ago my Dreamcast died shortly after I bought it (the game that it). I got another one the next day, but never played it. When I moved, I left the game in storage, and only recently got it and my other Dreamcast games, out.

I've just never gone back to it yet. Was it crappy?

The only one worth a damn (A lot more than that actually) was the first one. Leave the others alone and cherish the memory of the first one. The lone highlight of the second game for me was taking a tommy gun to some bizarre looking pirates

I have a sega slant, obviously, and I'm sure this isn't even accurate to me, but these are some games i remember paying a lot. If i had room i'd be naming golden axe and streeets of rage, along with tons of other good sega games.

I couldn't agree more. I'm stupified as to why Sonic games are even remotely popular. It's just gotta be the original "attitude" marketing, because it sure as shit wasn't the game.

I love the first Sonic the Hedgehog because I think it's a beautiful game (graphically) and has really nice music, and a cutesy feel. I also like Sonic SpinBall becauce I like video pinball and it's about coolest one I've come across. That's about the extend of Sonic games I care about one way or another.

I never really got into the Sonic sequels, but my wife loves 'em.

Jesus, my list was kinda terrible.
