I love what I do for a living and the company for which I work. My management all the way up the reporting structure loves me. But I'm being headhunted for a 20% raise doing the same work for another company with a national presence and potentially more growth opportunity. Really torn right now.

But, no need worrying about it until I have offer in hand, I suppose.

Would it involve a relocation?

Nah, here in Indy. Downtown vs. closer to home, but I worked downtown for fifteen years before this job. The commute isn't bad at all. It's really going to boil down to if their culture and environment are a good fit. In an ideal world my current employer counters an offer and I stay where I am for more money.

Here in Michigan. Been with the misus for the better part of a decade. I'm the purchasing manager for a HVAC Distrubutorship. I can't complain at all.

Oh yeah, at the ripe old age of 43, (Both Mom & Dad) we had our first child.

Caleb was born on June 14, 2015. Say hello!

Congrats on the boy JD. Your getting a late start but I'm sure your enjoying him immensely at this age. Making me feel old as my oldest grandchild is graduating H.S. and got accepted into ISU.

Second job fell through before it even got anywhere (They hired someone else before they even read my resume). While it's a little disappointing to feel like money is left on the table somewhere, it's also a huge relief because I love where I work. It really inspired me to work harder here and make them want to reward me more.

I just got a raise 2 months ago. I'm not afraid to lobby for one, it's just a little soon.

Anyone that's friends with me on Facebook or in real life know that nothing's really changed too recently. Been a Murse in the ER in Fort Lauderdale for about 9 months now. Adjusting really well. May/June will make 1 year and I might do some travel nursing in the Boston area to start.

I was in Philly for work the 6-8th it's not a bad city, enjoy it for what it's worth.

Anyways wife and I have a 9 month old daughter. She's pretty awesome. Were looking into new homes, my lil 200k home I bought 8 years ago is worth 365k now so it's time to buy bigger and better, excited to get into a bigger home with more land!

Got into the real estate game full time, I love it, finally doing what I love, a commercial property developer.

Sometimes you have to just to make it happen or you will never go. There will always be expenses. Take that income tax check and treat yourself.

Well, unfortunately most of our tax return has already been used to pay off those big purchases on the house... which is actually good. I'd rather go next year, without having to pile up more credit card debt, then to go this year and come back with even more debt then when we started.

Besides, it's not a "once in a lifetime" trip anyway. We've been to Croatia before, and plan to continue going there as often as we can.

I had a student from Croatia back when I taught Adult Literacy. Man, she was hot. Like, really hot. Is that pretty much the average over there?

It's funny, because my very first experience talking to a Croatian woman was a flight attendant on our flight into Croatia. She was insanely hot, so right off the bat the bar was set high, and we weren't even in the country yet. I don't know if I can say it's the average, but I definitely noticed a lot of good looking women. Even their current President is attractive (IMO)

Haven't been here in a while. Right now I have a daughter who is 2 years and 9 months and another who just turned 1 last month. They truly are my pride and joy. I always wanted to wait for the perfect time to have them, but time just kept going by, as I don't think there really is a perfect time to have them. No regrets whatsoever. They bring so much happiness to me.

My wife has 1 1/2 years left of ARNP school and will probably stop there. I'm in the process of changing jobs. I have been with my current company just shy of 10 years, so it kinda sucks to leave, but I couldn't turn down the new job with the school board, as I'll have tons of benefits. I'll be home everyday at 4:30pm, M-F, so I can spend more time with the family. Salary will be about the same, but I'll have places to move up now, opposed to nothing where I'm at now. It's going to be a huge change, but I won't have to kill myself at work anymore. Once the wife is done I might go back to school since we'll be better off, but for now I'm going to give this a shot. One of the school board guys I talk to told me I was their only candidate, and if I didn't accept it that they were going to just close the position.

Besides that, not much else has changed.

You sell your mobile home?
Yea, got rid of that of that POS a while back, but I can't hate on that place because it allowed us to save money and in the end, find our current house. Tried to do renting, but I was working so much that I didn't have time to deal with it. Paid $18k and got $30k for it, so I can't complain. After the taxes and the money I put into to fix it up a little on the inside, I still walked away with money. I didn't make a killing, but I didn't lose money and lived there for free for about 3 1/2 years in the end.
