PS+ has a ton of growing room.
It might be splitting hairs but PS+ isn't really comparable to XBL. PS+ is just a subscription and it does alot more than just online gaming. the direct comparison would be PSN (Playstation network). It's what lets you play games and connect to other people and would need to be upgraded/changed in your scenario.

At least that's my understanding. I could be wrong.
