If these companies were smart they would be designing games and building games based on what a market PC will be able to do when they plan on making the game "gold".

Seems like most developers are making games based on where specs are currently, so when the game releases it looks quite dated.

I think it's why most "next-gen" games look so good, because they're being developed years before the systems release, so when they release they're at current gaming standards.
