Looking forward to the modding community making the game 10x better again.

edit: only thing that's a little disappointing is the game will still be using the same engine as Oblivion/Fallout 3 (Gamebyro), though they said it's a "heavily modified version". I was hoping for a new engine since I feel this one is a little dated, but I'm sure Bethesda will work their magic and make it look 10x better then Oblivion.

This was the only thing on the VGA's that really got me kind of excited.

Dude, I almost jizzed my pants. It was totally unexpected. I just wish there was some gameplay thrown in.

George December 12th, 2010 12:21 PM

Hope it is better than the last one. They had all kinds of interface and gameplay issues.

-Tetsuo- December 13th, 2010 02:52 AM

Confirmed that it isn't using gamebryo.

No Russ, we aren't going to buy you a version of this Elder Scrolls.

Apparently they're going to do a Dead Rising 2 sort of thing and have a downloadable episode prior to release. "The Mile High Club" will lead you directly to the start of Skyrim.
:o

molsonmuscle December 13th, 2010 04:58 PM

Also looks like Gambryo is out and they are using a brand new engine for Skyrim...Which is awesome, cuz Gambryo has some serious clipping issues.

donster8u December 14th, 2010 10:44 AM

Hmm, this game could have a bit of tech 5 touch to it.

krazy December 14th, 2010 01:34 PM

New engine has me a little more insterested. Unfortunatly I can never finish these type of rpg's. More interested in Dragon Age 2.

Shaolin December 14th, 2010 04:58 PM

Well I'm geeked.

Indra December 14th, 2010 05:16 PM

games where enemies level up as you do (and often more efficiently) are lame. nothing like a level 90 archmage getting slaughtered by a mud crab.

pass.

This is a major reason why I stopped playing FF8. The shitty Draw system didnt help either.

I agree. Makes leveling feel pointless. I like grinding just so I can feel over powered and destroy everything.

George.

I don't mind enemies getting tougher, but their growth shouldn't outpace your own. Borderlands did this pretty well, Oblivion does it horribly.

Also, it leads to retarded shit where the area you walked a hundred times and only fought mud crabs is now infested with minotaurs now that you're a bit stronger. But nobody else has a minotaur problem...just you.

The story missions in Oblivion are horrible. If that's the best Bethesda can do, I don't want any part of a sequel.

krazy December 14th, 2010 09:15 PM

So what sub category defines the rpg's that Bethesda makes like Oblivion and Fallout from the ones that Bio Ware makes as in Kotor, Mass Effect and Dragon Age ?

Vid Gamer December 15th, 2010 10:46 AM

You guys are the bitchiest gamers ever.. lmao

Because we're calling an absurd design feature absurd? There are better ways to go about creating a constant challenge. You shouldn't have to scientifically level your character just to stay competitive at higher levels. There should never be any incentive to NOT leveling in a game.
